New Life

We have new life in our house this weekend. Last week I planted the seeds in my "greenhouse" for our spring garden and they're already sprouting!

Here's my new broccoli:

And here is a morning glory:

I'm so excited! I just hope it's warm enough to plant them soon because they will outgrow the greenhouse box quickly. I love my garden.

I've been out doing a little yardwork today - I love this time of year - when all of the plants start waking up and getting ready to bloom. The only downside is knowing our FREAKING HOT summer is right around the corner. You know how some people get depressed in the winter? I'm the exact opposite. I hate summer with a passion. I used to love summers because I lived right near the beach. But now - I'm landlocked by hellish heat and I HATE it. Can you tell I really dislike summer? :-)

Michele, I'm the same way. It would be different if I lived on the beach, or even within close driving distance of a coast, but I'm landlocked as well and the humidity here is so thick you could cut it with a knife mid-summer. I love spring, fall, and winter but I am not a summer person. We went to NM one summer and I liked the heat in that part of the country because it's dry. Wet heat is just miserable.
