Back to the land of the living!

I've been pain med free for 24 hours now! I'm still really sore, but I made it to the gym today and was able to run a mile before I had to stop. I still can't bear weight on it. I can pick up M because I have to, but otherwise I don't lift anything because it hurts. I can walk without a gimp now, though, so woo hoo!

I haven't been able to make much in the past week because it's dangerous to sew while you're impaired. But here are some pictures from the past couple of days.

Hubs was excited because I felt well enough to cook last night. I made some awesome vegetable soup!

Hubs bought me flowers to make me feel better. Awwww.

A hat I've been crocheting. It looks wonky because I tried to flatten it out for the picture. I'll probably finish it tonight. I'll publish a picture when I'm done.

We went to a flea market (love flea markets! Would marry them if they were people) and I found this awesome old camera for $5

And I found this teapot with Edinburgh Castle on it. Since Edinburgh is only my most favorite place in the world, Hubs bought it for me. What a sweetie!

And M's mixing it up. Now we're being subjected to a naked Mulan.

Oh yeah, LOST update tonight!

Don't let Pocket Edward see that Barbie!

Don't worry, Lauren. He only has eyes for you. ;)

Mmmm soup. Looks delish. I've never made plain veggie soup. I made an awesome Beef Barley Stew, though. And I do mean awesome. I'm a better baker than a cooker person.

I haven't made it to kickboxing all week because of my sick daughter. And I feel like a lump of useless lard. On vacation next week so no kickboxing for TWO WEEKS!!! And I'm noticing the nursing is not keeping the poundage off these days. I think it's time for another pregnancy because that did wonders for my weight.

Love the crocheted hat. I've made several baby hats with crocheted flowers. They are SO cute. Unfortunately, the kid won't keep them on.

The antique camera rocks. On display or are you going to try to take pictures with it?

Never been to Edinburgh - can't comment.

Naked Mulan looks more proportionate than Barbie - except for the ridiculously long legs. She has bigger hips than me, though, so I'm not jealous. Why do little girls strip their Barbies? I did it too - are we fascinated with the female form or do we just enjoy destroying things?

Wow, is there anything you can't do? (besides bear weight on your leg...)

That brings up another question... how do you run without bearing weight on your leg?

So talented,lol

Michele, the soup is simple. Unfortunately, I don't have a recipe. I just use a bunch of vegetable stock and dump in whatever veggies and spices I have on hand. It usually turns out pretty good.

Nursing never kept the poundage off for me. I wasn't one of those lucky ones. The camera is for display right now. If I could find film for it, I would probably use it once or twice, though. Just to see what kind of pictures it takes. I took it apart and cleaned the shutter last night. It seems to work well, so we'll see.

Naked Mulan and Naked Cinderella both have rockin (and more realistic than Barbie) bodies. Seriously, I'm jealous of them and their proportions.

Kelly, I wasn't supposed to be running :). It was against the rules, but I did it anyway because that's how I roll. :D
